End of Training Exercise
Use the attached Excel dataset to create and design your own dashboard. (Download Data Set)
Dashboard Key Features:
- Usually fits on one page
- Displays key trends, comparisons and data graphically or in small tables
- Provides the reader with conclusions to their objective
- Is often interactive allowing the user to filter data and switch views themselves
Requirements:
- Create a dashboard containing 4 grids.
- Design Phase – Create a Storyline:
- What is the purpose of the dashboard (e.g. summary, overview performance)
- Who are target users (e.g. Executive, Manager, Analyst)
- what do you want to show? KPI (e.g. Performance (Sales, Profit), Consumer Behaviour (Purchasing Channel)
- What actions are performed after each click the user makes on the dashboard.
- Filters to be applied – which element and report will be filtered.
- Identify parameter selections: Global Paramater applied to the whole dashboard page. / Report specific
- Demonstrate tableau interactive elements: Tooltip, Filtering, highlights
- Formatting and standardization
You will have to do a presentation of your work.
